GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

Review product quality attributes of raw materials at receipt in Marina, Huron, Yuma, or outlying areas, monitor and document cooling/nitrogen flush procedures and readings, perform audits from a Quality perspective and assist with environmental monitoring and other food safety processes. Inspect products extensively before their release to assure our standards of quality are met.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Perform quality checks on incoming raw materials to ensure they are within specifications and FSQA guidelines and report any deviations in a timely manner to their supervisor/manager and/or departments involved.
• Sanitize and Calibrate all tools used to perform duties, such as probes, knives, and scales.
• Monitor cut to cool times and Oxygen readings post cooling and report deviations.
• Perform Food Safety checks on cooling tubes, forced air chambers and icing equipment.
• Perform post-sanitation equipment inspection.
• Perform daily quality inspections for all fresh produce items in inventory.
• Knowledgeable in and adherence to FSQA programs and procedures.
• Complete all other tasks or assignments as directed by the supervisor/manager.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

• 1-2 years of food safety and quality auditing experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Time management skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Follow directions, interact well with co-workers and accept constructive criticism.
• Should be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Understand and follow posted work rules/procedures.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel to various work locations and relocate.
• Ability to work inside the cooler.
• Must be able travel to various work locations (Marina, Huron, Yuma) and relocate.

WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

• Requires working some Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and nights.
• Night shift position, (shift may vary)

PAY RATE:

CA/AZ: $25.05
